Iran-Australia trade is done via Intermediaries; official
“Iran-Australia exchanges are carried out by intermediary countries,” the Vice President of the Iran-Australia Chamber of Commerce told ILNA.
In an exclusive interview with ILNA news agency, Mohammad Hassan Didehvar said “Most of our problems in exporting and importing with Australia are related to the banking system, which is done by the intermediary country.”
“The rial value of Iran's imports and exports to Australia has increased. We have a lot of problems in dealing with Australia, which goes back to sanctions and does not allow lots of goods to be exported and imported.”
He added that our exports to Australia include non-oil commodities and are only made by the private sector.
“The value of Iranian imports from Australia was approximately 626 thousand kilograms of non-oil commodities worth $8.561 million during the first 6 months of the current fiscal year,” the Iranian official said.
Didehvar added that in the first six months of the year, Iran’s exports to Australia were more than 4 million kilograms worth $9.45 million.
