Turkey not imposed any restrictions on Iranian companies

Speaking to ILNA news agency, Mohammad Reza Rostami added that after the US sanctions, Iranian businesspersons decided to set up companies in Turkey for ease of import and export, but they faced problems and had to change their policies.

"Iranian companies registered in Turkey were a result of the companies efforts to bypass sanctions. But Turkish banks have imposed restrictions on accounts owned by Iranian nationals, such as they cannot transfer more than $ 10,000."

Rostami added that so we had to take risks and established companies with Turkish nationals whose 100% ownership was belong to them too.

"U.S. sanctions against Iran can have positive consequences for Turkey."

In 2017, bilateral trade volume between Turkey and Iran totaled $10.7 billion, up nearly 11 percent year-on-year.

Earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani told his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a phone conversation that Iran is fully prepared to develop ties with the friendly and fraternal country, Turkey.

Rouhani also called for fast implementation of joint projects between Iran and Turkey while Erdogan voiced Ankara’s readiness to expand and develop bilateral ties with Tehran.

Iran and Turkey plan to set up a financial mechanism to circumvent U.S. sanctions on the Islamic Republic.
