Renault and Peugeot have no place in Iran; Iran Minister
Iranian Industry, Mining and Trade Minister Reza Rahmani said Renault and Peugeot would have no place in our country.
Speaking to ILNA news agency, Iran’s minister in response to the two French car companies’ commitment breach, said that even if sanctions were lifted, Renault and Peugeot would have no place in the country.
“Experience shows that we should eventually have to focus on exports, if we had told Peugeot to export 20% of its production; our situation would have been different now.”
“There are many companies that can work in our country but the presence of some companies is not possible, for example Toyota will certainly not come in these conditions,” Rahmani confirmed.
“We should not forget that Renault and Peugeot companies treated us very badly. They acted contrary to their commitments and to any principle of cooperation and commerce.” Adding that we told them to leave and never come back, meaning that if sanctions were lifted they would have no place in Iran.
He added that we have to consider some of the leading companies in this industry with a win-win attitude.
Iranian Industry, Mining and Trade Minister said in fact, no partner would treat his associate this way. They quit despite a ten-year deal with two Presidents of the country; however, we will have better foreign partners by structure reforms in the future.
