Iranian deputy Oil Minister Hassan Montazer-Torbati said to ILNA news agency that Iran has begun serious negotiations with European companies to export gas to this continent.

The head of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) added that the infrastructure is in place and talks are underway with private companies in the EU.

“As soon as talks produce results, Greece will be among the first gas export destinations.” Adding that If Europe is willing, we have no restrictions, but the political hurdles must be removed.

Montazer-Torbati confirmed that we have been negotiating with European companies but have not reached the final results yet; most of private companies in the EU wants Iranian gas.

Supplying natural gas to Europe via a pipeline from Turkey is on the National Iranian Gas Company's agenda, he said.

Iranian deputy Oil Minister said we have also negotiated with Turkish companies.
