Iran eyes to establish joint bank with Afghanistan

Afghanistan business advisor Ahmad Sadat said to ILNA news agency that we are looking to establish a joint bank with Iran.

Speaking to ILNA correspondent, he said "Setting up a joint bank or opening a branch of an Afghan bank in Iran is requested and the Afghan government reviews the request."

“Afghanistan is currently negotiating with Iranian officials establishment of a joint bank,” he said.

“If this is done, money transfer problems will be resolved for Iranian businessmen, especially in investing so Iranians can easily transfer their money,” he added

Head of the Iran-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce said before that central banks in the two countries are looking for ways to resolve problems hurting banking ties between the two neighbors. 

Hossein Salimi pointed to a new approach adopted by the Tehran government that supports trade with neighbors in the light of US sanctions.

Afghanistan is one of the countries in which Tehran has invested hope to boost exports.
