Iran is building a new supercomputer

The Minister of Information and Communications Technology of Iran on his Twitter account wrote that a new Iranian supercomputer called "Simorgh", which is much more powerful than previous ones will be ready by next year.

Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi added that: "Simorgh, the Iranian supercomputer will support businesses with the aim of developing artificial intelligence."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with medalists of international and national Science Olympiads as well as Iran youth national volleyball team on August 7 in Tehran said: "Achieving beneficial scientific progress for the country is possible through a revolutionary, Islamic-based approach, and the key obligation on the part of the young elite generation is to advance the boundaries of science and technology."

In 2018, Iran ranked first in terms of scientific output among West Asian countries and was ranked 16th in the world.
