Iran reports process of reducing commitment to JCPOA
The Supreme National Security Council (SNSC)'s spokesman Keivan Khosravi wrote for ILNA news agency that the process of reducing the country's commitment to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is continually reported.
He continued that as Iran’s president declared until the return of the oil sale and Iranian banking transactions to the conditions before United States withdrawal from Iran deal, successive steps will continue with the cessation of its commitments in accordance with the National Security Council's statement.
Khosravi added that last week Iranian reporters visited Natanz facility; the programme was aimed at providing media reports about the process of implementing the Supreme National Security Council’s decisions on the cessation of some commitments.
Earlier this month, Iran said it was suspending several commitments under the deal, and threatened to step up uranium enrichment if European countries did not act to protect it from the effects of the U.S. sanctions.
European backers of the landmark 2015 nuclear deal -- Britain, France, Germany -- have been trying to salvage the agreement, but Tehran has complained that the process is too slow. The other signatories are Russia and China.
