Iran president Hassan Rouhani is likely to announce the country’ plans to retaliate against US withdrawal from the nuclear deal (JCPOA) on a live TV program on Wednesday, political source told ILNA in an interview.

Speaking to ILNA, he added that Hassan Rohani will explain the Iranian stage plans to take mutual action against the withdrawal of the US from JCPOA.

"Iran would remain committed to the JCPOA and Iran's projected plans were within the framework of Articles 26 and 36," he confirmed.

He said that the partial reduction in some Iranian commitments and the beginning of a part of its nuclear activities, which was stalled in the framework of the JCPOA are Iran's first steps.

He added that European Union only has contented itself with promises of unfulfilled promises over the past year so they have been informally informed of this decision.

The JCPOA was struck in 2015 between Iran, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the United States, Russia, China, Britain and France – and Germany.

President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Iran would remain committed to the multi-national nuclear deal, designed to deny Teheran the ability to build nuclear weapons, despite Mr Trump’s decision to withdraw from it.

The administration of US President Donald Trump on Friday imposed sanctions on Iran's export of enriched uranium but at the same time renewed three key waivers that will allow its European allies, Russia and China to cooperate with the Islamic Republic on civil nuclear program.
