Iran’s Ambassador in London Hamid Baeidinejad said on Friday that recent statement of the Royal Mail to stop sending parcels to Iran has shocked the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Postal Company.

In a tweet on Friday, he added that the office and the company have pledged to seriously pursue rectification of the decision.

He also ensured the dear Iranian countrymen if the problem is not solved until Monday, Iran’s Embassy will make arrangements for receiving the Iran-bound parcels and delivering them freely to the Iranian post.

In an unprecedented move, Royal Mail issued a statement that posting parcels to Iran has been ceased as of Thursday.

UK government ceded ill its shares in the company to the private sector in 2015 and bears no responsibility against the decisions made by it.
