The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Brussels on Monday night issued a statement condemning the anti-Iranian remarks of Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) that were uttered in a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Zionist regime.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in a statement said that standing by a representative of a regime that is not a member to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) or any international disarmament agreement, will not contribute to the NATO Secretary General's alleged credibility.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this statement stressed that the sayings of the Secretary-General of NATO are a misleading and irresponsible distortion of the facts, reiterating that Iran is a signatory to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and the Convention on Biological Weapons.

Iranian embassy in Brussels emphasized that It is indescribably a bitter joke to stand by the representative of a regime that not only violates international law, but also sneers at the non-proliferation treaty and disarmament mechanisms.

The occupying Zionist regime is the only holder of nuclear weapons in the West Asian region.

According to various reports, the Zionist regime has about 300 nuclear warheads enough to destroy the world.

The occupying regime has so far refused to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) while enjoying the support of the United States and Western countries.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg reiterated his accusations against Iran on Monday during a meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Jair Lapid in Brussels, ignoring the crimes, the Zionist regime's lack of commitment to a non-proliferation system and disarmament mechanisms.

In a baseless and ridiculous statement, Stoltenberg accused Iran of failing to meet its obligations under the NPT and UN Security Council Resolution 2231.

The NATO Secretary General's baseless remarks against Iran come as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has repeatedly stressed Tehran's commitment to the IAEA and the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear activities.
