Zarif to attend Geneva virtual confab on Afghanistan peace

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Monday that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is to participate in 2020 Geneva virtual conference on Afghanistan peace.
Geneva conferences on Afghanistan are held every four-year aiming to address commitments to establish peace, stability, and development in Afghanistan, Khatibzadeh said.
The event will be held in the presence of 66 countries and 32 international organizations, he added.
The Iranian diplomat said that the 2020 conference will be held online due to the outbreak of the pandemic.
