Iraqi Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed al-Sahaf denies attack by the Israeli Air Force on Hashd Al-Shaabi’s base in Iraq.

Spaesking to ILNA news agency, he refers to media report about Israeli recent attack to Hashd Al-Shaabi’s base and said “There is no such attack and I strongly reject it.”

Citing western diplomatic source, the Saudi-based publication alleged that Israeli warplanes attacked Hashd Al-Shaabi’s (Popular Mobilization Units) base in the Salaheddine Governorate of Iraq on July 19.

According to the diplomatic source, the Israeli Air Force used their new F-35 stealth fighter jets to carry out the attack.

He also pointed to Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi six-hour visit to Tehran, said “We support security and stability in the Middle East, especially in the Persian Gulf, as it is a strategic and important artery in the world.”

Answering to question about US-planned Persian Gulf coalition, he said “This issue needs to be referred to the higher authorities, because it contains too many details and I cannot speak in this regard.”

Ahmed al-Sahaf also refers to news about tripartite meeting of Foreign Ministers of Jordan, Iraq and Egypt in Iraq and added that tripartite meeting will shed light on the means of the economic cooperation among the three countries, besides ways of supporting Iraqi stability and achieving its development.

he Iraqi Foreign Ministry said the tripartite meeting will discuss "combating terrorism and investment through a series of agreements and understandings that include economic coordination and support for Iraq in the reconstruction of areas liberated from the ISIS group."

The participants will also exchange views and ideas on important issues of common concern and evaluate the latest regional developments, according to the statement.
