Iran welcomes participation of Turkish investors in developing projects in Iran, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.

'There is no obstacle for promoting cooperation between Iran and Turkey,' Rouhani said on Monday in a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan which was held on the sidelines of 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) annual meetings.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the most important bilateral, regional and international issues.

Iranian and Turkish presidents underlined the fact that they will spare no efforts in developing all-out cooperation in line with both countries' interests.

Rouhani described as necessary accelerating implementation of agreements between the two countries.

He also appreciated Turkish government for its sympathizing with victims of the recent terror attack in Ahvaz.

'We have always stood by each other in difficult situations,' Rouhani said, adding that such incidents remind us of being more serious against terrorism.

He also pointed to important cooperation between Iran, Russia and Turkey on Syrian issue, saying we are quite ready to help solve Syrian problem and especially that of Idlib in line with trilateral cooperation.

Erdoğan, for his part, expressed deep regret over the killing of Iranian people in the recent terrorist attack.

We are not facing terrorism anymore, but we are facing terrorist governments, said the Turkish president.

He also called for reinforcing Tehran-Ankara cooperation, saying we are standing by Iran to confront sanctions.

Turkish president underlined cooperation between the two countries over Syrian.

The United Nations General Assembly which is one of the six bodies of the organization and represents all 193 members of it holds annual meetings in late September. Attendance of many heads of state, premiers, and foreign ministers of countries makes the UNGA annual meetings an important venue for the world leaders to address the most important national, regional, and international issues in their speeches.

This year, the UNGA annual session started on Sept 18 and runs up to Sept 25.

The gathering also gives an opportunity to world statesmen to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event.
