Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi condemned terrorist attack in France.

'The fact that the terrorist group Daesh (ISIS) has accepted the responsibility of the brutal act indicates its insatiable desire to raise its name and try to survive in the wake of successive defeats in the region by killing innocent people around the world from the Middle East to Europe,' he said.

Those who have always been the initiators and financial and arms sponsors of Daesh and other terrorist groups for decades are their accomplices and responsible for all these human disasters in every corner of the world, he added.

Qasemi urged world leaders not to be influenced by the false slogans of some supporters and promoters of extremist-Takfiri ideologies and not to let them continue their destabilizing policies and thoughts under new covers.

Undoubtedly, as everyone is aware, this type of terrorism and extremism do not know any borders, territories and religions, he said

The world should rise for an untiring struggle with terrorism, Qasemi reiterated.

A young Frenchman stabbed five people in Paris on Saturday night, killing one, city prosecutor François Molins told reporters at the scene.

Four people were wounded during the knife attack in the touristy 2nd district of Paris. It happened at a time when streets and sidewalks were filled with people.

Two of the victims were gravely wounded and two others were lightly injured, police said. The terrorist was shot down by police forces.
