Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif said on Wednesday that Iran, Russia and Turkey cooperate for establishment of a lasting ceasefire in Syria to bring about a political solution to the crisis in the country.

Zarif made the remarks during a joint press conference with his Russian and Turkish counterparts at the end of troika talks on Syria in Moscow.

He expressed hope that the statement issued at the end of the talks could help put an end to the conflict in Syria.

Zarif said that the resolve of the three countries to fight terrorism is the first step to establish a lasting ceasefire in Syria, noting that Iran is committed to cooperate with other countries in that regard.

Referring to recent terrorist attacks in Turkey, Germany and Switzerland, the foreign minister said the terrorist groups are not confined to a single country and are a threat to the entire world.
