Ex-Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in Iran’s parliament, Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh stressed that the "Iran-Russia strategic agreement" is justifiable, but only if it is not done in an emergency.

“Iran faces harsh sanctions over the JCPOA issue, and this agreement should not be finalized as long as the sanctions remain in place. Consent to this document must be finalized when the deal is revived”, he added.

The ex-MP reminded that buying S-300 from Russia was not a good experience for Iran. Both the delay in the delivery by Russians and the technical level of the S-300 made this an unpleasant experience for Iran.

"While some US allies received the S-400 from Russia, the country delivered the S-300 to Iran with difficulty. So, if military purchases are to be made, no matter from which country, it should be of high-level military equipment that can be sold by countries."

Referring to the upcoming visit of the Iran’s President to Russia, he said that this visit will be very effective in various fields, including defense, economy and diplomacy, but hopefully it will have the necessary economic benefits for Iran.
