AmirAbdollahian: Iran, Azerbaijan should avoid misunderstandings in relations

The Iranian Foreign Minister in a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart stated that the two countries should prevent misunderstandings in mutual relations and that they should continue their relations on the right and growing path.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in this telephone conversation, emphasizing the need for mutual respect, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries, added that Tehran and Baku have long-standing relations with each other.

Amir-Abdollahian also noted that Tehran expects the transit problem of trucks to be solved as soon as possible.

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to the depth of relations between the two nations, countries, stated: "Tehran and Baku should not give enemies the opportunity to disrupt good mutual relations, and bilateral concerns should be resolved through dialogue and cooperation."

In this telephone conversation, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan also called his country's relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran cordial and said: "Relations with friendly countries are a priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan."

Jeyhun Bayramov further emphasized resolving the problems through dialogue and in a calm and sincere atmosphere and suggested that the customs officials of the two countries talk to solve the problems related to the transit of Iranian goods.

The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan also stressed the pursuit of the release of two Iranian truck drivers.

In this telephone conversation, the foreign ministers of the two countries invited each other to visit Tehran and Baku.
