The Kabul government welcomed Iran's proposal to hold a trilateral meeting to resolve the Afghan crisis

The Special Representative of Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs proposed a tripartite meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan, which was approved by Hanif Atmar.

In a meeting with Afghan Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar, Mohammad Ibrahim Taherian announced the importance of a regional consensus for the peace process and the expansion of relations among the three countries.

Hanif Atmar called the meeting useful for the success of the peace process and stressed the need to hold the sixth meeting of the Joint Economic Commission between Afghanistan and Iran.

Iran and Afghanistan have good and close relations with each other and the Iranian government has repeatedly stated that it is ready to cooperate in the Afghan peace process and as it plays a decisive role in resolving the regional crisis.
