The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran considered Tehran's actions in accordance with the nuclear agreement and stressed the need for the United States to return to the full implementation of its obligations.
In an interview with CNN on Monday evening, Mohammad Javad Zarif added: "The United States must create the conditions for its return to the nuclear deal because the United States is out because of its own decision to withdraw from the nuclear deal without having roots inside."
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran continued: "On the other hand, Iran uses the mechanisms of the nuclear agreement to limit its cooperation. If you read Article 36, Tehran has acted in full compliance with the nuclear agreement."
Zarif added "Now the United States must return to fulfilling its obligations, in which case Iran will be ready to respond immediately."
The Islamic Republic of Iran resumed some of its nuclear program, including the enrichment of 20 percent uranium, after the withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in accordance with the provisions of this nuclear agreement, but has always insisted that if the US government lifts all oppressive sanctions against the Iranian people. And to return to JCPOA, Iran will fulfill its obligations to JCPOA.
Mohammad Javad Zarif continued by emphasizing that time is not important here, adding: "the question is whether the United States and the new administration want to follow the old policies, the failed policies of the Trump administration, or not."
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran added: "In this case, we can discuss another issue that President Biden has raised."
