Economic Council of Iranian embassies to be established

The new Iranian ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan Abbas Mousavi announced the formation of the Economic Council of Iranian embassies in the Caspian littoral states.

Abbas Mousavi, the new Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan, said during a visit to Maku, northwestern Iran, on Saturday that "Azerbaijan is important for Iran in various dimensions, so the role of Anzali, Aras and Maku free zones in developing trade and economic interactions between the two countries cannot be ignored.

Emphasizing the need to strengthen economic relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mousavi added, "In order to strengthen economic sectors of the Iranian embassies in the Caspian littoral states, an economic council will be formed."

The current Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman has recently been appointed as the new Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan and is scheduled to serve as spokesman until next month (September).

Previously, Javad Jahangirzadeh was Iran's ambassador to Baku.
