We suggested to Iraq that the common borders between the two countries reopen and works every other day, Yahya Ale-Eshaq, head of the Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce told ILNA.

In an exclusive interview with ILNA news agency, the Iranian official said that therefore, the Iraqi authorities were supposed to open some of the borders but we have not yet reached an agreement yet.

"But we are negotiating and consulting, and we hope that these borders will be opened as soon as possible," he added.

Yahya Ale-Eshaq confirmed that borders of Iraqi Kurdistan such as Tamerchin, Bashmak, Kermanshah, and Kurdistan are open from the beginning, and activities are underway.

Iraq closed its 1000-mile border with Iran to Iranians on March 8 and a week later stopped even Iraqi citizens living in Iran from returning to their home country.
