India to continue its relations with Iran despite spread of coronavirus

“Despite the spread of the coronavirus, India continues engaging with Iran,” said the vice president of India-Iran Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking to ILNA news agency, Parham Rezaei pointed to the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the world and added that in such situation we should not seek to increase our business relations with other countries.

“If the country's current trade balance goes up and down, it's okay because this is happening all over the world,” he said.

Referring to Iran's quarantine by its neighbors, the vice president of India-Iran Chamber of Commerce confirmed that Iran supplies some of its essential goods from India, and so far no Indian company has stated that we will not send the goods to Iran because of the coronavirus.

Parham Rezaei added “the Iranian government should expand its cooperation with the private sector in these circumstances to provide coronavirus fighting products.

Iran’s main non-oil exports to India include steel, ammonia, gas condensates, petrochemicals, and paraffin. India’s main exports to Iran include agricultural products such as rice, oilseeds, cotton, tea as well as textiles, thread, and industrial machinery.
