Iran-Korea trade relations is on hands of Seoul; official

The Secretary General of Iran-South Korea Joint Chamber of Commerce Pouya Firouzi said to ILNA that Iran has virtually no trade relations with South Korea.

Speaking to ILNA news agency’s correspondent, the Iranian official said that only a limited number of home appliances have entered the country this year.

“The future of business relations between the two countries is now in the hands of Seoul.”

He confirmed that there are no Korean companies in Iran right now and all the offices are shut down. Adding “As a result, all banners were collected from around the city and now other products are being promoted.

Samsung and LG Electronics pulled down their last advertisement banners in Iran. The two ROK companies have recently cut their trade relations with Tehran over U.S. sanctions imposed on Iran.

Iran's Foreign Ministry decried what it called "compliance" of foreign companies with the U.S. sanctions. The foreign companies leaving the country over the U.S. sanctions would not be able to return to the country's market easily, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abbas Mousavi said.
