Head of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce Yahya Al-e Eshaq highlighted we are waiting for new era to establish a joint bank with Iraq.

Speaking to ILNA news agency, Yahya Al-e Eshaq said that before the martyrdom of IRGC Qods Force Commaner Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, our enemies were trying to cut ties between Iran and Iraq in all areas, especially the economy.

"But now relations between the two countries will improve in all areas."

In response to the question, why has Iran not invested in Iraq's oil production and refining sector, he said the main obstacle was the United States because Washington was the main opposition to the stability of relations in all areas.

The IRGC Aerospace Force started heavy ballistic missile attacks on US Ein Al-Assad airbase in Southwestern Iraq near the border with Syria and a US operated airbase in Erbil in retaliation for the assassination of IRGC Qods Force Commander Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.

Iraq enjoys good capacities for joint investment in the field of power plant, refinery and food industries, Al-e Eshaq added.

"Iran's nine-month export volume to Iraq was $ 6 billion."

Relations between Iran and Iraq have increased greatly since the fall of Saddam Hussein in Iraq in 2003. Iran was the first country that recognized the governing system in Iraq after the Saddam fall.

The targeted assassination attack represents a dramatic escalation by the US toward Iran after months of tensions. The tensions take root in Trump’s decision in May 2018 to withdraw the US from Iran’s nuclear deal with world powers, struck under his predecessor.
