Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Rahmani announced that Iran and Azerbaijan will soon produce a joint heavy vehicle.
In an exclusive interview with ILNA news agency, he confirmed that Azerbaijani-Iranian has automobile plant and added “Iran Khodro has a joint production unit in Azerbaijan which is in production.”
“A joint venture was also launched this year and Iranian company planning to produce a heavy vehicle with Azerbaijani company,” he said.
The Khazar plant plans to export about 20 percent of cars that will be produced before 2020 within the first stage of production, Emin Akhundov, the chairman of the board of AzerMash company, which is a co-owner of the plant, told journalists.
The factory is one of the biggest manufacturing units in the area with a capacity of manufacturing 10,000 sedans a day in various models.
