Peugeot CEO talks about his country's interest in collaborations with Iranians.

Peugeot CEO in an interview with ILNA economic correspondent, regarding the probable effect of “Donald Trump”, US president, administration’s policies on joint collaboration of the car manufacturer with Iranian companies stated that in today’s world we are not isolated and are not living in separate islands and have to have interactions with all others.

“Jean Philip Imprato”, Peugeot CEO, also said that since we’re active in industry and are working on economic projects, in Peugeot we try to stay away from politics as much as possible.

“Our cooperation with Iran Khodro has been based on legal frames and we don’t have any concern regarding this matter. At the same time, in previous days, French foreign minister has expressed his support for “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action”, (JCPOA), and the nuclear deal and as a result, we also, with all our might, would remain committed to our contracts with Iran.” He emphasized.

CEO of top French car maker also conveyed his company’s interest in having win – win projects in Iran. He mentioned his talks with Iranian industry minister and talked about Iranian interest in following the same model. “We will attend Iranian projects with our latest technologies and our joint venture company that has been founded with Iran (IKAP), is an assertion to this claim.”

At the end, the Peugeot official, regarding the vehicles catching fire said that the issue is not connected to the company and the incidents has happened during the time when because of international sanctions we have been forced to cut our cooperation with Iran Khodro. In other words we are not responsible for the matter.
