Tehran, Baku to enhance ties in non-oil economy

Visiting Iranian Communications and Information Technology Minister Mahmoud Vaezi and Head of the Board of Directors of Azerbaijan Republic Financial Market Supervisory Body Rufat Aslanli in a meeting on Friday stressed closer ties in financial market.

During the meeting, Vaezi for his part underlined the importance of development of relations between Iran and Azerbaijan Republic financial institutions.

He added that Iran is interested in promotion of Tehran-Baku ties in non-oil economy.

Aslanli for his part said that expansion of Iran-Azerbaijan economic and financial relations will help boost Tehran-Baku all-out ties.

Vaezi arrived in Azerbaijan Republic on Wednsday to follow up implementation of previously signed MoUs between the two countries.

As the Iranian head of Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission, Vaezi met and discussed expansion of ties with Azerbaijan economic officials on his visit to the Eurasian country.

He was accompanied by economic and industrial activists in public and private sectors.

During the visit, Vaezi and Azeri officials opened the project of Astara-Astara railway line connecting the railways of the two countries, as well as construction of Railway Bridge over the river of Araxes.
