Iran, Serbia ink MoU on rail industry cooperation

Iran and Serbia on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation on rail industry to build passenger wagons and transfer of technology with foreign financing, Irna reported.

Chairman of Investment and Infrastructure Commission of Kerman Chamber of Commerce Hamid Ezzat-Abadipour said that Serbian firms are interested in cooperation with Iran.

He said that the Iranian partner signed contract with Serbian wagon-manufacturing company of Gosha.

European rail industry standards correspond to the Iranian rail industries more than that of other countries, he said.

Ezzat-Abadipour briefed the investors about the facilities and terms of investment in Iran.

Director of Balkan Trade Center Branko Dragosh said that the Trade Center developed cooperation with 6,000 companies worldwide and that it is willing to cooperate with the Iranian firms.

Director of 'World Trade Center' Abdolrahman Samadi attended the meetings as the biggest exporter of rail wagons to Iran hailed cooperation with Iran and said that Serbian businessmen are interested in partnership with the Iranian counterparts.
